About the Role
The Director, Financial Sponsors position is a senior coverage role responsible for existing and target client engagement in this high performing industry segment. Our clients are typically the top tier sponsor clients in the industry, and have very specific funding, hedging, transactional payments and cross-border solutions needs. The incumbent will be required to immediately identify opportunities where ANZ's product capabilities and risk appetite align with our clients' needs.
The Financial Sponsors team will consist of 8 professionals located in New York with specific responsibilities in originating and executing across fund and asset level opportunities, whilst ensuring the current business is well-managed. The Financial Sponsor industry is expected to be a key component of the expected growth of ANZ's Institutional Division with a corresponding expectation that the opportunity set within the business will continue to grow in the coming years.
A successful applicant will be required to possess a strong understanding and experience in covering the Financial Sponsors and have fund's finance and hedging expertise. This position will require:
• The person to execute a growth strategy that aligns with Global FIG expectations and developing the experience and knowledge within the team for successful execution - for external candidates, this will be discussed during the interview process.
• Excellent communication skills required to present and negotiate both internally and externally at a senior level.
• Accountability for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation and contribution to future strategy of the area(s).
• Full management responsibility for multiple clients, including engagement with senior Risk and Product colleagues and key internal stakeholders.
• This role will report directly the Head of Financial Institutions Group, North America. Role Type: Permanent, Full Time
What will your day look like?
• Drive innovation on the solutions we provide clients through partnerships with product specialists and subject matter experts, while structuring deals that balance risk and reward.
• Deliver the bank to the clients while aligning Risk Appetite and Product capability with client needs.
• Execution of strategic initiatives launched centrally at all levels, including working in global coordination with other regions.
• Drive complex multi-product solutions across multiple geographies, such as cash management solutions, coordinated hedging solutions, and funding solutions.
• Work closely with Credit Risk Management and Market Risk to ensure the appropriate establishment of new credit relationships as well as the monitoring of the existing credit portfolio.
• Always ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and ANZ's policies / guidelines. What will you bring?
To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following -
• Commercial/corporate banking experience with extensive experience covering Financial Institutions delivering unique solutions required for these companies (strong preference for direct industry relevant execution experience).
• In-depth knowledge of all aspects of relevant banking products including cash management, derivatives, syndicated and bilateral loans, capital call facilities, NAV facilities, debt markets issuances, trade, etc.
• Possesses sound judgment and able to create in providing structured solutions to bank clients.
• Significant experience with credit decision making authority, with experience in complex capital structures and cross border transactions.
• Multi-year experience pitching and executing capital markets solutions, including joint calling with investment bankers as well as independently is desired.

Compensation and Benefits
The base salary range for this position is US$200,000 - 270,000 annual
This range is determined by the job, location and level of expertise required for this specific role. The final salary offered will consider your capabilities, skills and knowledge.
